Petanque Tournament

Petanque Tournament

Fun and Games in Cap d’Antibes.

Yesterday was the annual regional Petanque tournament at the  Boule Amicale du Cap d’Antibes. The tournament takes place every year and the regional clubs take it in turns to host the event. Therefore it only happens on the Cap once every few years.

The tournament took place all day from 9am until 6pm with a lunch break in between under the shade of the trees. I really couldn’t think of a nicer place to play Petanque than here.

I turned up at about 11am and the tournament was already in full swing. There must have been well over 100 people there and most of them, at some time or other, came to ask me if I was from Nice Matin which was quite amusing.

Apparently the club has been here for over 30 years, however the club president only took over a few months ago so I couldn’t quiz him about the history. In any case everyone was so lovely and friendly and it was a lot of fun spending the day with them.

Further details of the club can be found at the end of this post.
