Secret Garden Cap d’Antibes

Secret Garden Cap d’Antibes

The second in my series of Secret Garden photo stories.

Belonging to the Astoux Family this secret garden was once full of greenhouses filled with roses. Now just one of the greenhouses remains as the family are no longer in the rose growing business.

The Astoux family used to have over 70,000 rose bushes here and were one of the first of the local rose growers to sell directly to the public. They stopped selling roses in 2000 when Andre Astoux retired.

However it is still one of my favourite gardens on the Cap with so much character that I had to feature it on the blog.

  • Hi!
Wonderful pictures! (as all the other ones of your blog).
You’ve got “an eye” with a great skill to capture the right frame.
This garden is so full of life, not as the too neat ones of the big villas of Cap d’Antibes.
    Thanks, JM

    • Thank you for your kind comments Jean-Michel I am so happy that you enjoy the blog! I hope to share many more beautiful secret gardens soon and yes I agree the non manicured gardens have so much more character!
